Noades Architects designed this modern roof extension and remodelling of a 1960s bungalow.
Two new bedrooms were created in the extended roof space, and the existing ground floor was opened to provide a modern kitchen/living/dining area with a bi-folding door opening to the garden. Raising the dining area ceiling has allowed an open stair and gallery to be formed.
The new house benefits from improved insulation and a HVHR ventilation system. Heating is via an air-source heat pump and the combination of these factors results in very modest energy usage.
